Janet Somerville taught literature for twenty years in Toronto. She spent three years wholly immersed in Martha Gellhorn’s life and words, research that led to Yours, for Probably Always.

Her memoir How Midsummer Night has been acquired by Open Road Media for publication in January 2024. She is currently working on a YA novel about Martha Gellhorn.

She’s a frequent contributor to the Toronto Star Book Pages and often interviews authors for bookstores, libraries, publishers and writers festivals.
