A calm morning at Tilting Fogo Island Newfoundland. It doesn't get any calmer than this!

The lovely thing about writing letters is the sense of hope and wonder it brings. The hope and wonder yours made it; the hope and wonder some will arrive. ✉️

Today we’re celebrating Shakespeare Day, otherwise known as April 23. On this day in 1564, William Shakespeare was born (we're pretty sure). By the time of his death, exactly 52 years later, he was a prolific actor, playwright, and poet.

William Shakespeare is believed to have been born here #OnThisDay in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon.

By the 1840s, it was split into a pub, a butcher’s and a tenement and had severely decayed.

Using an early drawing from 1769, it was extensively restored by the Birthplace Trust.

Remembering this piece that #Hemingway wrote & delivered in 1937 at the Writers' Congress in NY: "Fascism is a lie:"

One of my favourite books of all time. The #audiobook, performed by Winwman, is also glorious. The humanity. The humour. The kindness & joy.

Someone reposted this for Shakespeare day. She credits Peter Hall & John Barton as teachers but their method can be a prison if you’re not careful. She’s such a master she knows exactly when, where, & how to relax it. The clarity is shocking.
